Personal Guided Tours
of the Cotswolds

If you are not sure what you want, let me take you on a ‘Classic Tour’,  which is one that takes in all the villages you ought to see on a day out in the Cotswolds.  We can chat before and during your tour and can adapt as we go along

.For simplicity, I have split my classic tours into manageble areas.
The North Cotswolds and the Central and Southern Cotswolds.
However, it is easy to design a tour which takes in parts of both.

I can take up to 6 people in my luxury SUV.
If there are 5 or 6 in your party please have a look at my vehicle details page.  The two back seats are for smaller agile people!

We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world.
The area is full of history: From the Romans to the Anglo Saxons to the Normans and on to the Middle Ages.  They have all left their mark in the churches, the buildings and the landscape.

But, if it’s shopping you want all the market towns are full of wonderful independent shops, galleries, cafes and tea rooms.

Each and every tour is unique.  I will plan a tour that mixes all the above giving you time to enjoy what you want, at your pace.
Some of the best bits are the journeys between the towns.  I often stop to admire amazing views or just soak up the serenity of some of my special places.   A usual day is 6 to 8 hours.

Hi Peter.
We had such a wonderful time with you today. We could not have asked for a kinder more knowledgeable guide. I told my wife that it felt like we were visiting the Cotswolds with an old friend. You are such a sweet, wonderful guy and we really enjoyed your company today. You did a fabulous job and we are so grateful. Thank you for the kind words. All the best to you and maybe one day our path will meet again.

Book a tour with Peter - June 2024

If you're looking for an immersive and educational experience in the beautiful Cotswold region of England, then book a tour with Peter as your guide. From the moment we met him in the lobby of our hotel, we knew Peter had a deep passion for this area, and a broad depth of knowledge of it's extensive history Peter provided fascinating historical context about the region as we drove, choosing key stops for picture taking, walking, and more in depth exploration. His tour was carefully curated to time, our interests, and what we had already seen, and his knowledge of the area is such that he can tailor the experience to any tourists preference. Despite limited time, we covered some amazing historical sites including the Blenheim Castle (birthplace of Churchill) and and Sudely Castle. His guided tour was well worth it, especially for out of towners, and we would recommend him highly to anyone.

HIGHLIGHT OF OUR TRIP - JUNE 2024

We truly enjoyed spending the day with Peter. Not only did he possess a wealth of knowledge on all things England, but he was also a naturally welcoming spirit and an engaging conversationalist. My wife, daughter, and I have no relations in England, but spending our day with Peter made us feel like we'd returned home to spend the day with a wise and treasured uncle. This tour was a major highlight of our ten-day trip to England and we would highly recommend it to anyone interested in the Cotswolds. Written 4 July 2024

Wonderful Experience! - July 2024

We had a wonderful time on our full day Northern Cotswolds tour with Peter. We saw so many different towns and he was so efficient and knowledgeable. My mom lived in the Cotswolds with her family as a young child while her father was stationed at the Air Force Base in Fairford in the 1960s. She always shared such vivid, fond memories of her time there and hadn’t been back for 60 years. It was so amazing to share this experience with her and to be able to see it still so much like it was when she lived there. Peter was a great driver, very friendly, and we enjoyed hearing about the stories he shared with us and we had great weather to boot. Would definitely take another tour with Peter, if we are lucky enough to go back for a visit.

We had an amazing day with Peter. Prior to the tour we communicated our interests and potential itineraries so he was aware of what we wanted to see/do. He picked us up in his very comfortable car and it was immediately apparent that he has unparalleled local knowledge. Peter provided historical context, fun anecdotes and interesting facts. Peter's tour was fun and we felt like we had spent the day with the quintessential English gentleman. We highly recommend this tour!

Peter is a gentleman and the tour was just simply beautiful. It more than met our expectations, and we felt like we were with a friend rather than a tour operator. Will definitely do Cotswold again and will definitely do a full day tour. Peter is a local and knows the Cotswold like the back of his hands. He is also very flexible and will easily customize to your needs.

Aug 2024 • Family Peter drove us from Stratford to Bath and showed us the highlights of the Cotswolds in between. He knows the area well, is a careful driver, and let us take our time. He also knows great spots to eat. The pub we had lunch was perhaps my favourite during my entire staty in England. Peter even took us to the nearby brewery that made my beer. Thanks Peter for a beautiful day in the most beautiful part of England.

Our family of 6 had a wonderful day trip organised by Peter . Peter was prompt when replying our email when we first enquired about his Northern Cotswold Tour. He was waiting for us at the scheduled train station on that day .Peter is knowledgeable, accommodating and approachable. We set off immediately and saw many pretty thatched roofs houses and cute cottages. Lunch at Sherborn Arms (far from the maddening crowd )was excellent fish and chips / steak. Our family particularly enjoyed lazing in the Lavender fields and shopping for local products at Daylesford. (Peter's recommendations) The ginger snaps were delicious, really regret did not buy more. His car was also equipped with iced water on that wonderful summer day outing. Thanks to Peter, we had a most enjoyable day at Cotswold. Looking forward to be back again.
